Please Pray for Lydia Byrd......

Lydia Byrd is a beautiful 5 year old. She found out this past Friday that she has a tumor on her brain stem. The doctors say it is inoperable and terminal. Her parents are devasted. But, they know that God can still do miracles. Please pray for a miracle for Lydia and that God will wrap his arms around her and her family in the days ahead.
Lydia and her family attended our church until just a few weeks ago. They moved to the Raleigh area due to her Dad's job. She was in my tot-time on Wednesday nights last year and she was just the sweetest girl. She has two younger brothers.
Please lift this family up in prayer and ask for a miracle for Lydia.....

Busy Weekend & Busch Gardens

Austin & Andrew
Can you tell they really want to have their picture taken...

We had a busy weekend. I made a quick trip to the Island on Saturday. I dropped off Father's Day presents and went to Jimmy & Minnetta's 25th Anniversary party. I got back home Saturday night about 10:30. On Sunday we hosted the teens after church for Extreme Eatover. Then got up early this morning to head to Busch Gardens.
The weather has been nice here today. The lines were not to bad at Busch Gardens. But, the boys just do not want to wait for any line. After we stayed there a few hours, Andrew decided he wanted to come to the motel and Austin wanted to go shopping. So, Travis and Andrew went to the pool and Austin and I went shopping. It was nice to get my shower and to now just chill and relax. We will go to Water Country tomorrow and back home on Wednesday.
Hope you all have a great week.

Christy

Happy Father's Day!!!!

How blessed I have been to have had a father that molded his children into the people they are today. Daddy is one of the most hard working, honest, man of his word men that I know. The father's that my brothers have become are a testament to the example that they had. I also am so very thankful for the man that is the father of my children. My desire is to have my boy's one day become father's like their Papa, Daddy and Uncles.

How blessed we are to have Daddy, Travis, Mark and Randy as the father's in our lives. I love you all beyond measure......

Timber......

We finally cut down the Eucalyptus tree. It was bitter sweet cutting it. When we moved here it was probably as tall as I am. I never realized how big they can get. We lost the back part of it a couple years ago and now it looked like the top was dying. It was starting to make a mess, dropping leaves everywhere. So, it was time for it to go.
Not much else going on this weekend. I was hoping to get the deck stained. But, rain Friday didn't allow that. So, that is one chore that still needs to get done.
The boys have 1 more day of school and then they are out for the summer. Austin ended up getting a 91 on his Geometry exam and a B for the semester. We will take that. I think over all he had a pretty easy year. I can't believe his freshman year is behind him and now he will be a sophmore. He will be graduating before I know it. I overheard him asking his friend Wes if he knew what he wanted to be. I heard Austin say that he had no idea what he wanted to do. Hopefully he will figure it out soon. They want you to know even in high school......
Hope you guys have a wonderful week.

Christy

Weekend.....

Fixing the boat......

Waiting for Nana to pick us up at Mr. Paul's. I think Mr. Paul got carried away on the bangs....
Another weekend has come and gone. Enjoyed a day at Wade Shore on Saturday. While I took Andrew to get a haircut, Travis & Austin went to float the boat. That turned out to be a good decision. Because, Travis quickly realized that the engine wasn't running right. Turns out we had a leak in our fuel filter. Lukily Billy Best's had one and with a quick fix we were on our way. It was a little cloudy to start with. But, turned out to be a beautiful day. On Sunday Brooke and Eric came and had dinner with us at Nana's. We were teasing him and Papa that the men were falling apart. But lucky for them they had some good nurses. It was good to see both Eric & Papa doing so well. I realized that we really do need a 3 day weekend. Just 2 days isn't enough time to do all that you want to do. Austin has exams starting on Wednesday. Say a prayer that he passes his Geometry exam.....Have a great week.

Glass Half Full.....

Hoping to be able to visit the lighthouse again with Papa soon......

That's Regina on the far right........

That is how I am going to look at all that has happened the last couple days. The half full glass for Daddy is that he had his Cath and we found out what was going on before he had a major heart attack, or worse. With my friend Regina I know her stroke could have been a lot worse. Regina is now able to move her right arm & leg. But, is still not able to talk. I think I am more devastated by this happening to her than Daddy's news. I think after Daddy's surgery and recovery that he will feel like a new man. I worry how much Regina will completely recover? We are going to have to believe that she will recover completely and have patience. A song I was listening to today words were, " God does move our mountains. But, sometimes just one stone at a time."

A lot will be going on at work and now at home the next few weeks. We are in the process of hiring a new doctor. She is supposed to start July 1st. Regina was in the middle of getting our ECHO lab accredited. She also did a lot to help our nurses. So, we will have to make some staffing decisions. I just pray that God will allow everything to fall into place and the correct decisions will always be made.

Praying for Papa, Nana, Regina......

Christy

After The Rain....

Hibiscus......

Hosta......

That is actually fake fern in that container.
Definately will not have to water....

Weekend Work

This past weekend was spent getting the yard Spring Cleaned.....It was warm. But, we had a good breeze so the temps were not too bad. It took "2" trailer loads of mulch to cover all the beds. I can't wait for my lantana to start blooming. That will put the finishing touches on the beds. We just had a good rain which was badly needed. I have tried really hard to select plants that are drought resistant. So, time will tell how much watering I will have to do. It looks like that my 2 watering cans so far cover all currently. I can handle that. Tomorror the week will already be half over. Hope all are having a good week and looking forward to Mother's Day. This family sure does have some good Mama's in it. So, all those Dad's & Kids better take care of them on their special day.

Love to all,
Christy

Wonderful Weekend....

We had a wonderful weekend of Family Fun, Sun & Good Cooking..... The weather was beautiful. Even though I was fussing about the SW wind..... It probably would have been a little warm without it. Nana went with us out in the boat on Saturday. You know Nana she had to bring along the clam rakes. We actually hit a spot that allowed even I to enjoy a little clamming. We got some clams and Nana cooked a clambake Sunday for lunch. Saturday night she fried fish with all the trimmings. So, needless to say we had some good cooking this weekend. Now that I think about it, Nana always cooks good.

The only thing to make it better would have been to have a couple brothers, their wives and 6 beautiful girls on the beach with us. Also, some of Nessa's clams casino would have topped it off. We are looking forward to more weekends spent on the beach. This would have been a great week to be on vacation. But, we have to work. So, we will look forward to the weekend. Hope you all have a wonderful week......

Christy

Happy Birthday Papa.....

Happy Birthday Daddy.....My wish for you is that on your special day you will not be in any pain and that you will not have to complain about one thing. Maybe this year will bring you relief from all of your aches and pains. Just be thankful that you don't have any kids that are a pain in your side. Ha! Save us a piece of cake and we will see you tonight...

Spring Feaver

Needless to say I have Spring feaver. Just having a few days off last week was enough for it to set in really bad.....We spent a few days at the beach. The weather was sunny. The wind was a little brisk, so that made it feel a little cool. We have our fingers crossed for this weekend though. The temps are supposed to be in the 80's on Saturday & Sunday. So, we are hoping to get to go out in the boat. Nana & Papa took their neighbor out this past weekend. I told them that if you had to wear a jacket to the beach, I had just as soon not go....
It has been rough getting back in the routine of bedtime and homework. The boys and I are counting down until school is out. We do rush our lives away don't we? But, we all enjoy those lazy days of summer.
Travis has been busy getting a rental ready to rent out again. I think he has finally finished with it. So, he now has to start on my honey do's.... I have a feeling he will find something else to occupy his time.
Love ya all,

Christy

Happy Easter....He Is Risen.....

We are enjoying a beautiful Easter Sunday. It was a little chilly when we left for church. But, it has warmed up nicely this afternoon. Wasn't in the mood for ham. So, we grilled barbecue chicken for lunch. Getting good pictures of us is a chore. The boys actually didn't fuss as much as they usually do. They actually were just being silly.
I was going to take Monday - Wednesday off this week. But, it looks like the end of the week is going to be nicer. So, I am going to take Wednesday - Friday off instead. We will go to the beach a few days and then finish up the week here.
Hope you all have a wonderful Easter and a great week ahead.
Love ya,
Christy
